Microsuction ear wax removal at home

Professional microsuction ear wax removal and ear health checks in your own home, across Central Scotland. £55 for both ears, with no call-out fee.

What is micro suction?

A gentle, water-free way to clear ear wax

Microsuction (sometimes written micro suction) uses a small, gentle suction device to remove wax from the ear canal while Jackie looks closely inside your ear. It's a form of professional ear cleaning, but unlike ear syringing or irrigation, no water is used, so it's clean and quick, with no mess.

It's suitable for most people aged 10 and over, including many who can't have water irrigation. Jackie will always check your ears first to make sure it's right for you. The only times she won't go ahead are if you have an active ear infection or have had recent ear surgery, in which case she'll advise you to see your GP first.

What happens at your visit

Every visit goes at your pace. Jackie explains each step before she does it, so there are no surprises.

1. A check and a chat

Jackie will chat with you about your ears and any symptoms, then look inside your ears to check micro suction is right for you. Nothing starts until you're comfortable.

2. Gentle wax removal

The wax is gently removed with micro suction. You'll hear a whooshing sound while it's working, and you can ask to pause at any time.

3. Advice before she leaves

Jackie will explain what she found and give you any advice on looking after your ears, so you know what to do next time.

Hearing aid users

Wax build-up is common for people who wear hearing aids, and it can stop them working properly or cause feedback and whistling.

Jackie regularly sees hearing aid users and can remove wax so your hearing aids fit comfortably and work as they should. Just let us know when you book.
